Count Basie/Joe Williams:Smack Dab In The Middle
Once upon a time a girl with moonlight in her eyes put her hand in mine and said she loved me so❤
By far the best version. The swing of it and the horn section is awesome
Great music😊
Won't you stop and take a little time out with me Just take five Stop your busy day and take the time out to see if I'm alive Though I'm going out of my way Just so I can pass by each day Not a single word do we say It's a pantomime and not a play Still, I know our eyes often meet I feel tingles down to my feet When you smile, that's much too discreet Sends me on my way Wouldn't it be better Not to be so polite You could offer a light Start a little conversation now It's alright, just take five Just take five Though I'm going out of my way Just so I can pass by each day Not a single word do we say It's a pantomime and not a play Still, I know our eyes often meet I feel tingles down to my feet When you smile, that's much too discreet Sends me on my way Wouldn't it be better Not to be so polite You could offer a light Start a little conversation now It's alright, just take five Just take five Just take five Just take five Just take five
Possibly my favourite song/version of all time
ruclips.net/video/-g59DPDFl6U/видео.htmlsi=OgUDdtL0ivKmgqbx Doc version.
I like the Doc severisen version live for this song. His tone is full of colours with due respect to Maynard one of my heroes.
I am 83 years and just heard this smooth voice. So romantic.
George Benson "The Other Side of Abbey Road" was my first introduction to Benson.
I hear this every Sunday when I listen to Alan Kepler’s Smooth Jazz Classics on Smooth Jazz Florida. Oh and by the way, I listen to it online and I’m from New Jersey and listen to a radio station from sunny Florida!!
Achingly beautiful. From the 1962 Broadway musical 'All American', composed by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Lee Adams. Ray Bolger and Eileen Herlie performed the original on stage. ruclips.net/video/Waz2L9XRweg/видео.html

I grew up listening to Trane and Bird... They paved the way... No electronic magic just music 😎❤️💥
The Greats
If Frank Sinatra was a woman he would be Peggy Lee and if Peggy Lee was a man she'd be Frank Sinatra!! Their styles of singing were the same!
Saw him at Meadowbrook in rochester michigan. When he was coming off stage i had orchestra pit seats and got a high 5 from him!!!!
Recorded 07 March 1963 at Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs,NJ. Coltrane, Hartman, McCoy Tyner-piano, Jimmy Garrison-bass, Elvin Jones-drums. Coltrane was keen to record with Hartman, his favorite jazz vocalist, and producer Bob Thiele made it happen. Coltrane as a leader recorded with no other vocalist.
Lovely ❤ Amy made it difficult 😢

Gorgeous 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Emirates airline brought me hear after playing this on landing in Dubai .
If he lived long enough he would have been the best dunk jazz drummer. He got into this style very late in his life.
me 2
George Benson was a Guitar genius, who had the lamentable fault of finding an equally good singing voice that slowly diminished his musical aspirations.
WHO'S HERE BECAUSE OF BILLIE???
We'll go dancing in the dark Walking through the park and reminiscing. Somebody borrowed Jobim's melody line🤔
Most underrated Basie song.
Saw Dizzy and his orchestra 17 pieces in Washington Square park live in August 1982. He opened with Manteca.
ELLA THEY'LL NEVER BE ANOTHER
I'm so glad they decided to lose the harmon mutes in the trumpet section! That opening in harmons is crazy to tune.
Sounds half and half to me.
i heard this outside of menlo mall in nj after hanging out w my friends. sht was fire had to ask siri what this tune was rq 😭🙏🏽
One of the best things about growing up in the '60's and '70's is the music. I had alot of BTO on 8 track.
thank you
Nice Voice
AMAZING!!!
My father loved Tony Bennett & had albums. I used to listen to them when I was a pre teen. This song reminds me of my dad. Music speaks to the soul! Beautiful song from a beautiful voice! RIPMr. Bennett ❤️
